The Engineering team works in conjunction with the mine’s other sectors, including Mining Operations, Plant, and Environment. Its responsibilities include mining planning, blasting design and producing different land surveys, in addition to ensuring that the site’s various geotechnical issues are compliant. Furthermore, the team oversees an internal development program for junior engineers that enables them to work in several departments under the guidance of a mentor.
In my opinion, what sets CMM apart is the pleasant work environment and open-mindedness of my colleagues. They always take my ideas into account, and the managers listen. This gives me a sense of accomplishment in my work. The challenge of operating an open-pit mine near the town and on the site of a former underground mine has given me a broad range of experience. I also chose CMM because it allowed me regular work hours, something that’s important to me.
